Carey, a former top fashion model who stands at almost 5'10" she was a favorite of American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was a distinguished geologist, who in 1979 was named Scientist of the year by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was a frequent traveler due to her father's work. When she was attending an institution called the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. Following her move to France, where she briefly resided at Paris, Bordeaux and New York She decided to return to New York and continue her studies. In the next few months, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines included her on the covers. She studied full-time in New York University, obtaining her degree in literature while working on modeling assignments. She became more interested in acting and started training with the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her acting debut was as a character with Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Pardise. She enjoys skiing, wind surfing as well as rock climbing, and white water rafting.
